Yesterday, I went to the funeral of a 17 year old girl.

17 years old.

It was a major blow to our community. The details behind her death are not my story to tell and I did not know her personally, but I can tell you she came from a very loving home with wonderful parents who adored her.

Why am I writing about this?

Because all day I have seen Facebook blow up with negative and downright nasty comments regarding the details of her death.  I couldn’t be silent any more.

I want to make this clear: I am NOT commenting on the specifics of this case.  I did not know the young lady personally, and I am writing my personal opinion. 

There has been a flurry of posts on social media lately that shows various pictures saying the following phrase:

    You know I’ve battled anxiety & depression fo approx 20years and I understand this post because i felt like it was me speaking 🙂
